Course introduction
Vietnam Golf & Country Club is the first 36-hole golf course, covering 300 acres, with a length of 7,106 yards for the West Field and 6946 yards for the East Field. Both courses were rebuilt on the jungle, and the west side course was opened in 1994. It is known for its narrow fairways and fast greens. The West Field was designed by Taiwanese architect Chen King Shih. The West Field, which was connected to the woodland, successfully hosted the Vietnam Open twice in 1995 and 1997. Three-time winner Lee Trevino was invited to design the 18th hole of the East Field and opened in 1997. The East Field fairway is wide but challenging, the obstacles are exquisitely laid out, the lake is numerous, and the Bermuda greens are undulating and hidden. He won the title of "Best Asia" Golf Club twice.
This course passes through multiple palm trees and provides a challenge from the tee to the narrow landing area. Bermuda's Tifeagle Green offers a beautiful nudged area throughout the year. The East venue provides a wider fairway than the West venue, and the length of the West Course Championship makes it more difficult to play. Even from the ordinary tee, the course has to be played all afternoon, especially when the shot does not hit the target.
The best hole is the eleventh hole, a long 408-yard par four with a curved fairway to the left. The tee must hit the tree and hit the green on the left. The second hit is more complicated, there is a big tree in the middle of the fairway, and there are bunkers on both sides of the green. This slightly towering green is very wide, so the close-knit shot should be able to rotate into the hole with ease.
