West borders with Laos and Cambodia; Sea on the east and south. It covers an area of 329,000 square kilometers, and the terrain is narrow and long, with an s-shaped shape. The terrain is high in the west and low in the east, with 3/4 of the territory covered by mountains and plateaus. Major rivers include the red river in the north and the Mekong river in the south.
